There is no 'perfect' age to start learning music. Where you start from will be entirely dependent on an objective assessment of : 1. Your talent 2. Your basic musical abilities 3. The type of music you are conditioned to i.e. the genres you enjoy and respond to the most. At Artium, our teachers will assess these parameters and give you a precise recommendation of the stream and level of learning that will be appropriate for you.

Studies in neuroscience show that music can enhance brain function in children. At Artium, we assess the child’s musical aptitude, ability to pick up lessons, level of interest in specific styles of music, and overall motivation in the trial class itself. Then we suggest an appropriate course of action for the child. This allows us, as well as the parents to choose the best-suited course for the child's capabilities from the various course options that are designed for different categories of generic requirements and competence levels.

Artium’s Hindustani Classical Music course is designed to train a person to become a Hindustani Classical performer in Khayal. 1. Therefore, the course will suit you only if you wish to learn Hindustani Classical Music (Khayal) as an art and not for the purpose of acquiring a technical base for your aspirations towards other genres and styles of music such as film music, pop music, fusion, ghazal, devotional music, etc. For those genres and styles, Artium has designed individual courses IN WHICH HINDUSTANI CLASSICAL MUSIC IS ALSO TAUGHT EXTENSIVELY AND INTENSIVELY. The lessons and modules have been designed in accordance with the more variegated and specialized needs of each genre. 2. To enroll in the Hindustani Classical music course, it is advisable that you have a taste and basic appreciation for the art as a performance genre i.e. you have been exposed to classical music in your home environment, or you have developed a taste for classical concerts later in life. If you do not have a fundamental taste for classical music but for other genres, you must enroll in the genres where you have the conditioning, taste, and aspirations.

Artium’s Carnatic Classical Music course is designed to train a person to become a Carnatic Classical performer. 1. Therefore, the course will suit you only if you wish to learn Carnatic Classical Music as an art and not for the purpose of acquiring a technical base for your aspirations towards other genres and styles of music such as film music, and pop music, fusion, etc. For those genres and styles, Artium has designed individual courses IN WHICH CARNATIC CLASSICAL MUSIC IS ALSO TAUGHT EXTENSIVELY AND INTENSIVELY. A person desirous of professional goals needs to work hard on tenets of professionalism and perfection. A person like you who wishes to enjoy the process of learning can go through the songs and lessons you like being with. Of course, a minimum commitment to improvement is recommended. When the process of improvement becomes fun in itself, then we have the ideal situation.

Yes. You can always sign up for more than one course simultaneously. You can buy all levels of the same vocal course or you can choose to sign up for a vocal and instrumental course at the same time. Since you have complete control over your class schedule and timings, it is feasible to enroll and manage more than one course at any time.

The first step is taking the trial class, which will help us assess your voice and musical goals from the course. The trial class teacher will then recommend a course that meets your skills and aspirations. You can enroll into that course either from your dashboard or from Artium's website or by contacting our customer experience team.

We have a lot of international students learning with us. Our teachers provide time slots that are suitable for various time zones so that it is not a hassle to find a slot as per your preference. We do not wish to constrain you on where to buy your instrument. We will provide you with the specifications and model recommendations, and then you can choose to buy it from any store you want.

It is highly recommended to take your trial as well as regular classes on a laptop, tablet, or desktop for the best experience. You might be required to refer to documents or open multiple tabs in the browser during the class and it is easier to look and switch between multiple visual elements when you have a larger screen. If you do not have access to a laptop or desktop, then we do provide Artium App for Android as well as iOS users. You can download and jon class or 1:1 trial session from the app.

We strongly recommend you keep your video on so that it's easier for your teacher to engage with you. It also helps the teacher to see your movements as you are singing or playing an instrument to correct any mistakes.

All classes are recorded and made available to the students on their Artium dashboard shortly after the class. Once uploaded, the students have the option to access the recordings for future reference. You will have access to your class recordings through your student portal for as long as you're enrolled in the course or you are an active student at Artium. However, the recordings cannot be downloaded.

* You will have access to all of your study material as well as recordings of Artium Showcase & Masterclasses as long as you are a student of Artium Academy and you have a valid and active subscription with us. * If a student is no longer active or takes a break from the program then access to the course materials of the program will expire 30 days from the last scheduled class of the current batch.

"No. We believe that practice and performance are the highest benchmarks of learning, and cannot be substantiated through written assessment. Our primary aim is to make you perform. However, you will have to submit a final assignment to earn your certificate for your selected course. "

Artium offers a platform for our learners to perform in front of a digital audience through our showcase event and Masterclasses. The practice of lessons imparted in the training sessions is a vital part of development. Students are expected to practice a piece taught in the session, record it using the Practice Studio, to his/her own satisfaction and submit it to the teacher for assessment.

* Every student has access to one-of-a-kind Practice Studio from their Student Portal. This practice studio can be used to practice music in between classes as well as record something. * Students can use it to share recordings with their teacher or to record and submit their assignments

Though we strongly support practicing between your sessions using our Practice Studio, we recommend that you submit one or two recordings per session based on the assignments that you would receive from your teacher.

Do not worry. You can message your teacher from your Student Portal and explain the issue. Your teacher would return your assignment and you would be able to re-submit your practice recording. However, you can do this only once.

Your certified teacher will definitely provide feedback before your next session, early enough for you to be able to put into effect the improvements and corrections as per the teacher's feedback.

Absolutely! You have the flexibility to schedule a maximum of 3 classes as per your preference from the timeslots available with your teacher.

Ah! We understand, that there can be a last-minute change of plans or unforeseen circumstances that lead to you missing a class. However, you need not worry, at Artium, we accommodate one occurrences of either no-shows/reschedules/cancellations of a class within 24 hours of the class schedule every month without any consequences.

Just like all other members, the teachers at Artium are extremely passionate and disciplined about music education and you can expect the same level of enthusiasm through your musical journey at Artium. However, if due to an unforeseen circumstance, there is a last-minute class cancellation by the teacher, the schedule and the lesson of the subsequently scheduled classes get auto-adjusted. Rest assured, completely regardless of the shortcomings, we try our best to ensure that your learning experience remains unimpacted.

The way each of our curriculum at Artium is designed, there are certain lessons/modules assigned to be covered in each of the classes, however, it occasionally happens that certain lessons/modules require more than one class to be properly covered. In order to ensure that the correct study material & assignments are aligned with your subsequent classes, the teacher would assign an 'Add On Class' which is nothing but a class where you would be spending time revising, practicing and covering chapters from the previous classes.

Nope, you do not specifically have to buy 'Add On classes', these classes become a part of/are adjusted within the subscription that you sign up for.

That's completely fine. Your Artium-Certified Teacher will guide you through the completion of your subscribed course and customize the duration with add-on classes, based on your learning needs.

You have complete flexibility to take your classes & take breaks at your convenience. This also means, you have the option of not taking classes over a preferred period of time and coming back and continuing whenever it's suitable for you. However, while you have the option to come back and utilize the remainder of the classes to restart learning, you would have the option of claiming a refund only as per Artium Academy's course cancellation & refund policy.

You have the option of claiming a refund as per Artium Academy's course cancellation & refund policy which says: - 1. Artium Academy shall on demand, refund the advance fees of classes that the Student has not attended (subject to applicable taxes) after adjusting such fees for the classes that the Student has already attended. 2. The Student shall be eligible to apply for refund only during the 'Ideal Course Period' subject to the quantum of class and pack of sessions elected and enrolled for by the Student. The ideal period for utilizing the course purchased by the Student shall be considered as 1 class per week for the number of classes mentioned in the pack of sessions elected by the Student (“Ideal Period”). However, the Student may delay the utilization of the class beyond the Ideal Period but shall not be allowed to claim a refund for such classes beyond the Ideal Course Period. Tabla- If you are using a mobile app for your classes then, place it horizontally and sit at least a couple of feet away from the device. This will ensure that you are seen from head to toe by your teacher. The distance parameter remains the same if you are using a Laptop or a Tab. Guitar - It's important to make sure that the camera is placed in a way where the teacher can view your hands and the position of your Guitar. It is advisable to sit on a chair preferably without armrest as it hinders the movement of the instrument. Joining in with a Laptop would be better as you will be able to see the charts and the teacher more clearly. The best way to keep would be is to place the laptop on your left side. We operate daily from 7 am to 11 pm IST and owing to our flexible scheduling policy, students can select their own time slots based on their availability and convenience.
